Tracking Controller
We have a Position available in Sandton for a Tracking Controller. Candidates require excellent MS Excell skills and data analysis experience for this position.
Expected duties: Tracking Control & Accuracy: Tracking Data Accuracy: Analyse tracking data received from logistics service providers to ensure details such as lot numbers, bag numbers, and dates are accurate. Any discrepancies identified are reported to the relevant LSP via email, with continuous follow-up until the issues are fully resolved. Discrepancy Reporting: Prepare and share a report on dispatched trucks as per the truck status report, missing in LSP tracking data. Distribute the report to LSPs, Supervisors, and Managers for awareness and action. Continue to follow up until such time as the omitted trucks are reflected on the tracking reports. Offload Delay Monitoring: Identify cargo waiting over 48 hours to offload at warehouses. Follow up with warehouse and LSP to ensure timely offloading. Facilitate communication to confirm truck status alignment across routes and locations.
Tracking Reporting and Verification: Consolidated Tracking Report: Prepare a consolidated tracking report per buyer three times weekly. Share via email and WeChat groups to ensure timely communication. Port Warehouse Tracking Updates: Provide consolidated tracking information to all port warehouses receiving cargo destined for them, three times weekly to ensure timely offloading of all trucks at warehouses and shipment planning. Stock and Shipping Schedule Updates: Update and maintain the report reflecting stock enroute and shipping schedules. Monthly Tracking Summary Report: Submit a detailed monthly tracking report to the Supervisor and Manager. The report must include all stock in transit, categorized by commodity and route. Aging Cargo Review: Prepare a weekly report highlighting: Trucks not offloaded for more than 48 hours. Trucks stationery for between 5 days to be added and monitored on the 5+ Days Delayed Sheet. Trucks stationery over 30 days to be added to the Delays Sheet for follow up by Supervisor or Manager. Trucks affected by issues such as accidents or breakdowns should be sent to the Supervisor and Manager And identify cargo that has been in transit beyond normal turnaround times, flag reasons, and escalate where needed. Tracking and Stock Audit: Conduct a comprehensive weekly review of all tracking data, comparing offloaded cargo data against warehouse stock reports to ensure that all cargo is accurately accounted for, either as in stock or correctly reflected on tracking. Any discrepancies must be identified and resolved promptly. Transit Time Analysis: Prepare a weekly transit time report for management, calculating the average transit time across all corridors for both direct and indirect cargo.
Basic salary on offer: R 25 000.00 negotiable depending on experience with benefits to be discussed.
